The king of Amangadi Kingdom, King Bhekizizwe Ngema, has been inaugurated as the rightful king to reign in the Amangadi Traditional Authority. King Sgcwelegcwele ascended to the throne this past weekend in Amangadi Traditional Authority House in Dunnottar.

This prestigious ceremony was attended by various kings and paramount chiefs from different kingdoms across the nation and community members. The house of The National Khoisan Kingdom Abbaquar-San Royal House led by the monarch, Khoebaha King Thomas Edgar Brown, was also present.

According to his majesty Brown, this coronation signifies a new chapter for the kingdom of Amangadi. “It now means this kingdom is now part of the crucial decision-making in the county and will no longer be excluded”, said HRM King Thomas. He further explained in his keynote address that since the launch of the National Khoisan Kingdom Abbaquar-San Royal House in 2021, it has been his mission to ensure that the Khoisan Leadership is acknowledged and the indigenous people of South Africa are well represented as they are the rightful owners of the land.

He further clarified that the Khoisan Kingdom includes and consists of all Khoi and San people as the Khoi and San people were the first indigenous people in Southern Africa and they lived by the spirit of Ubuntu. “I’m working tirelessly to ensure that your identity is being restored, when I come out of the constitutional court you will see change”, he said.

The paramount chief of protocols from The National Khoisan Kingdom, Nhlakanipho Ndawonde, narrated the origin of the Khoisan Kingdom and how the kings are the rightful leaders of the land. “The rightful leaders of the land are the people. However, they need kings to represent them. Our mandate as the Khoisan Kingdom is to restore people to their origin state and ignite the spirit of Ubuntu within them”, explained chief Ndawonde.

He further expressed that their wish is to work with the government of South Africa to ensure the well-being of the people. Amongst the people who attended this historic event was Umnotho Warona Kingdom Trust represented by king Samuel Nkuna, who emphasized the importance of why kings should take back the reigns and rule in this country. “The government must subdue under kings, what we are saying as Umnotho Warona Kingdom Trust is that we are unapologetic about land expropriation. If the Constitutional Court of the land fails to give us what we demand, we will escalate the matter to the International Court”, said King Nkuna.

By the end of the inauguration, the newly crowned king Sgcwelegcwele the 2nd together with his wife, Queen Ngema and his Paramount Chief Mfino and other members of the Amangadi Traditional Authority House were awarded certificates that stamp their authority. The certificates display the logo of the National Khoisan Royal House and the South African Coat of Arms. The newly coronated king Bhekizizwe Ngema assured the community that they are in safe hands and he promised to rule with integrity and truth.
